Rams Final Roster Cuts 2020

Well it happens every year, dreams both get crushed and come true. Some go on to make history others are lost to it. I am of course talking about NFL cut down day. Yes, the unofficial end of summer, the day when every NFL has to get down to 53 players on their active roster.

Here is a list of all the cuts the Rams made on September 4th and 5th to get down to the roster allowance:

September 4:

DB Adonis Alexander

LB Daniel Bituli

TE Kendall Blanton

C Cohl Cabral

G Jamil Demby

WR Earnest Edwards

DB Jake Gervase

K Lirim Hajrullahu

DB Juju Hughes

RB John Kelly

G Jeremiah Kolone

WR J.J. Koski

DB Dayan Lake

K Austin MacGinnis

DB Tyrique McGhee

LB Derrick Moncrief

WR Easop Winston

September 5:

DT Marquise Copeland

DB Donte Deayon

DT Michael Hoecht

LB Clay Johnston

LB Natrez Patrick

QB Bryce Perkins

LB Christian Rozeboom

DE Jonah Williams

While I don’t find any of these cuts to be extraordinary there are some fan favorites but only mostly because of Hard Knocks. Those being LB Clay Johnston and CB Donte Deayon. If you watched Hard Knocks you would know outside of saying ‘dang it’ and knowing Brett Farve, it really didn’t seem like he was ready to play from his injury. Donte Deayon, I did think was going to make the team, but upon reviewing their current roster. They have a lot of young talent in the back of the defense. So that probably made him expendable if anything.

The two things that stick out to me is them having one less player than the max, probably to see who would be available on cut day. The other one was cutting QB Bryce Perkins. My take they reach out to Josh Rosen to come in and back up Goff and LB Todd Davis from Denver who knows the new Rams DC.
